DIVERSITY has been a contentious word in America since the time of President Obama, the “Great Divider,” as Thomas Sowell calls him.
For some, diversity is a rallying cry, for others an insult.
So in America today, we have dueling, politicized acronyms. In this corner, we have neo-liberalism and the feminized Democratic Party of Nancy Pelosi and Hilary Clinton and Kamala Harris with DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), and in the other corner we have the neo-conservatism of Elon Musk and Donald Trump and J.D. Vance with MEI (Merit, Excellence and Intelligence).
It’s easy to see what MEI brings to the table because Merit, Excellence and Intelligence have long been winning attributes in human endeavors.
But what about DEI? Diversity Equity and Inclusion are new standards without any real historical underpinning. So how is DEI working out in the real world?
What follows is an ongoing dive into the “diversity” story as it unfolds…
Santa Ana wind gusts are creating dangerous fire conditions in San Diego County, according to Cal Fire authorities. The Lilac and Pala fires together have consumed a little less than 100 acres.

Here’s an intriguing “what if” from the Los Angeles wildfires that I haven’t seen covered at all in the American press. Here’s the deal. From 2017-2019, during President Donald Trump’s first term, the U.S. and Russia negotiated a deal for 10 Beriev Be-200 firefighting jets – planes capable of carrying 12 tons of water and refilling in just 14 seconds. But politics and FAA red tape — the “Deep State” that President Trump has pledged to quash — torpedoed the deal. Had the “Deep State” not shortsightedly blocked the Beriev Be-200 deal, the U.S. would have had a significant additional fire fighting asset to deploy against recent devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and elsewhere.
BIG DEVELOPMENT! A scathing indictment of poor management at the Los Angeles Fire Department under LA Mayor Karen Bass and Fire Chief Kristin Crowley is detailed in a letter from five members of Fire Chief Crowley’s own command staff. The charges go on and on in damning detail, but as an example — as recently as 2023, 10 fire engines were held in reserve by the LAFD for emergencies like the Palisades Fire, but in 2025 the LAFD has NO fire engines in reserve, and the reason for this, in turn, is that 77 FIRE ENGINES or over half the emergency fleet was in need of repair, and UNAVAILABLE FOR SERVICE at the time of the Palisades Fire. Furthermore, the LAFD was understaffed and unable to fill vacant positions because it appears the Fire Department — which has an acknowledged lesbian as Fire Chief — was unwilling to hire capable and qualified normal white men. A long time Palisades resident (and the husband of the woman who called 911 with the original Palisades Fire alarm) said the response by the LAFD to his wife’s 911 call was the slowest he’d ever seen in his life. And then, of course, when the LAFD finally got there, they found there was no water in the fire hydrants!
The jobs of Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley and Los Angeles Water Chief Janisse Quinones are also at high risk, although they do not hold elected office.
Brutally true! It doesn’t matter what you FEEL, sweetheart, or how many Disney movies you’ve watched. The simple facts of physiognamy and male culture are this: you can’t physically or emotionally do the job as well as man. And therefore jobs like the military and Police and fire fighting, where we simply must have the best people available, are not the woman’s place, no matter how cute you are.
The Los Angeles Fire Department completely lost sight of its legal mandate and public responsibility — which is to protect LA against fire. Instead, it appears that the LAFD came to believe it was responsible for promoting lesbianism in LA!
BIG NEWS! Top Los Angeles Fire Department officials have called for the resignation of Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley in a scathing, 5-page letter amid the still ongoing Los Angeles wildfire crisis.
Why? Why was the Los Angeles Fire Department’s response to the Palisades Fire so slow? Why was there no water in the fire hydrants when the first responders got there, and why had stolen hydrants not been replaced? And the bigger question behind that, why was there no water at all in the Santa Ynez Reservoir, which serves the Palisades, and why had the reservoir been dry for a year?
The questions for the Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass, Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, and Los Angeles Water Chief Janisse Quinones go on and on. For instance, why did Mayor Bass cut $17 million from the Fire Department budget last year when she knew it would compromise the LAFD’s ability to respond to Class 1 emergencies? And on the same subject, why were 77 fire engines, or over half the LAFD emergency fleet, broken down and unavailable for service at the outset of the Palisades Fire?
Finally, why does the LAFD have a paraplegic fireman?
The answer to all these questions is DEI.

Lawlessness in Los Angeles is really becoming rampant. Another 100 rider mob appeared and rode through LA for a couple hours yesterday. The last 100 rider mob reported earlier this week was involved in looting fire evacuated houses.
What’s amazing to me here is how passive the Los Angeles Police are. They should simply pull the helicopter above the riders and broadcast with their loudspeaker, “We are preparing to shoot your tires out. PULL OVER Now. I repeat, We are preparing to shoot your tires out. PULL OVER Now.” And then shoot the motorcycle tires if they don’t get compliance! Easy as pie.
Speaking from personal experience with natural disasters, I think this is probably true. Change is the only constant. Natural disasters just accelerate the process.
Gavin Newsom — California’s always busy, rarely helpful woke Democrat Governor — has sprung into action again in order to hurt the victims of the fires by preventing them from selling their property!
The world’s largest battery plant is now burning out of control at Moss landing, 300 miles north of Los Angeles on the coast. The plant is located in the former the Moss Landing Power Plant. The fire is spreading and the Pacific Coast Highway has been closed.
It all happens so fast! Here, the two houses in the foreground were completely lost before firefighters were able to get to the scene in the first phase of the Studio City Fire, the sixth major blaze in greater Los Angeles. Meanwhile another large blaze can be seen burning in the distance, toward Sherman Oaks.
Yes, the Palisades Fire could and should have been contained at the very beginning! But, you see, the 177 million gallon Santa Ynez Reservoir, which is supposed to supply both water and pressure to drive the fire hydrants in the Palisades, was empty and without water, supposedly under repairs for over a year! This meant that when the first responders from the LAFD arrived in the Palisades, they found there was no water in the fire hydrants. Additionally, there were reports that some fire hydrants had been stolen.
A DEI hire of embattled Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, LA Department of Water CEO Janisse Quinones knew about the potentially catastrophic problem at Santa Ynez Reservoir, but she was more interested in DEI than water.Her publicly stated priority has been to hire inferior DEI workers, and guess what this bargain bought the LA Water Department and the City of Los Angeles? The death toll now stands at 25. Nine of the victims died in the Palisades fire and 16 in the Eaton fire in Altadena, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner.
As I’ve said before, she is way over her head. She should be running the kitchen at some elementary school somewhere, not running America’s second largest city.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a conservative Republican, has ordered Texas resources dispatched to help liberal California fight the Los Angeles wildfire crisis.

This is tragicomic! Talk about being out of the loop! FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell said recently on Face The Nation that she believes Los Angeles officials were “very prepared” for devastating wildfires, but “they have never seen 100-mile an hour winds that are fueling the fire.”
Apparently the FEMA experts hadn’t heard about how the LAFD ran out of water very soon into the Palisades Fire fight, and even if the firefighters did have water, some of the hydrants they wanted to use had been stolen!
Then there’s the matter of the LAFD degraded emergency response capability, acknowledged by LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley in the Los Angeles Fire Department’s 2024-2025 Interim Budget Request, where she said, “The LAFD Emergency Fleet is in a constant state of disrepair.”
There is the matter of the City of Los Angeles’ Santa Ynez Reservoir, which is located in the Palisades, but is standing empty and supposedly under repair, even though the City of Los Angeles knew the Santa Ana fire season was upon them.
Oh yea, and the winds weren’t 100 mph. They were recorded at 40 mph the day the fire started.

Rory Sykes appeared in British TV show “Kiddy Kapers” in the 1990s. He lived in Malibu, but had cerebral palsy and reportedly couldn’t get around very well.

California Congressman Brad Sherman, who represents the Pacific Palisades area, predicts the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires will be the “most expensive” in U.S. history. He further predicts a “heated debate” over emergency funds for the Los Angeles wildfire disaster.
A little good news from Calabasas, CA, which is little touched by the fires so far, despite several nearby wildfire threats. Calabasas Mayor Peter Krause reported that the Police are cruising the streets of the town 24/7 looking for fire threats, but warned that conditions can change very quickly with the wind.
Forget about the fish. There is an explosive new charge here. In addition to lack of water in the hydrants, ANOTHER reason for the failure of the Los Angeles Fire Department to respond adequately to the fires — acknowledged by LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley — is that some of the fire hydrants had been STOLEN!
Can you handle a moment of humor? So California Governor has been torched for his policies on wildfires and water by everyone from the President of the United States, to the owner of the Los Angeles Times, to tens of thousands of fire-displaced Los Angeles residents of every stripe, color and walk of life, among whom James Wood’s description of Newsom as a “blithering idiot” runs toward the milder end of the spectrum.
OK, so now Newsom has responded with a video statement where he says: “A lot people are looking to point the blame for who is responsible for these fires, and I am no different. I want to find out who is at fault for this city running out of water when we literally have fires every year.” Gavin, this is a dishonest answer that attempts to deflect responsibility away from yourself and the State of California. Do NOT play stupid! Your much touted policies that prioritized mice and juvenile fish over basic HUMAN services like fire protection are a big part of the problem here, as are DEI policies that have crippled the City of Los Angeles’ fire fighting infrastructure and significantly degraded the quality of its fire fighters.
Do you want to be a real leader in this time of difficulty? Be honest. Own some of the obvious failures of your policies. Finally, I suggest you go look at the policies that worked in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, and readopt many of them. They were better for California than what you’re doing now!
Meanwhile, the damage estimate for The California Woke Democrat Wildfire Debacle of 2025 has been spiraling dramatically. On Wednesday the total damage estimate stood at $52 – $57 billion. The Bel Air Conflagration of 1962 burned through some of the same areas as the Palisades Fire of 2025, including Mandeville Canyon. Interestingly, there were no fatalities and much less damage with the fire and water management leadership and practices in effect during the 1960s than the woke liberal Democratic leadership and policies in effect today.

Simple answer: the City of Los Angeles did not build sufficient storage reservoir capacity to supply water and pressure to its fire hydrant system required to handle this big of a fire emergency, and then the City’s Palisades reservoir was empty and undergoing repairs at the crucial moment that the Palisades Fire broke out!

The work was all done. We sent it to him, and he refused to sign it. And if you notice yesterday, the hydrants were empty. California Governor Newsom has ordered an investigation into why the Santa Ynez Reservoir, which is located in the Palisades, was off line and unavailable to supply water to fire fighters.
Another problem with the Los Angeles Water Department, in addition to the fact that the Santa Ynez Reservoir is currently EMPTY, is that the woman who runs the Water Department is more concerned with DEI than water. Eleven deaths have been reported so far, but officials doubt this is the full total. The Palisades fire covers over 20,000 acres and continues to burn. It was only 8 percent contained at last report.

The Kenneth Fire has been contained now there is a new fire in Granada Hills, and the City of Los Angeles still has no fire fighting water in many areas.
“There’s going to be an extraordinary number of claims being filed, and probably from my eight years as Insurance Commissioner, I’d say the insurance companies are going to try to low ball and deny as many claims as they can.”
“Insurance companies covering home owners and businesses have sufficient assets to pay claims from this event. So if you have insurance, you’re gonna make a claim, and you’ll end up in a battle with your insurance company because that’s always the way it works… but they have the resources to pay the claims. However, some private insurance companies have been non-renewing policies, particularly State Farm, in the Palisades area.”

The answer to that question is a resounding YES because of the basic nature of DEI. “The mission of the organization and DEI are never the same thing [because] DEI basically means lowering the organization’s standards to get representation of certain groups.”

Three Alarm Woke Alert! Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley is an acknowledged lesbian and a complete woke looney. She has been heavily emphasizing DEI since her appointment in 2022, and she has weakened the LAFD with each DEI hire she has made because DEI inherently means hiring poorly performing people over better performing and better qualified alternatives.
“There was a failure in the response to the Palisades fire,” said Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, an acknowledged lesbian who was hired in 2022 to essentially destroy the Los Angeles Fire Department as it then existed by heavily emphasizing DEI and hiring a bunch of people who never would have been hired under the traditional merit and excellence based system.
Now Crowley admits there was a “failure in the response to the Palisades fire” by her DEI weaken department. In reality, however, DEI is just one of many problems the LAFD faced when the Palisades Fire broke out.
Another was the lack of firefighting water in the Palisades due to insufficient water supply and water pressure. Witnesses say that when the first responders arrived in the Palisades, there was no water in the hydrants. This was at least partly because the main Los Angeles water reservoir in the Palisades was closed and empty while undergoing lengthy repairs, which were not completed because of the next problem.

Governor Gavin Newsom demanded an investigation into LA water supply issues on Friday, after fire hydrants ran dry, 16 hours into the Palisades Fire. According to Newsom, losing that supply likely impaired firefighters’ efforts to save homes.

Trump has pledged a plan to deliver sufficient water for Los Angles’ basic firefighting needs. The President dared California Governor Gavin Newsom to refuse to sign it for the second time.
So a distraught woman whose daughter’s ruined school has just been part of an official Palisades Fire damage tour, catches up with California Gavin Newsom and attempts to confront him. But he dodges her, holding up his cell phone and saying he is trying to get ahold of President Biden at that moment, but can’t get through. Then the woman asks, “Governor, why won’t the President take your calls?”
Regulations are forcing some insurance providers out of the Golden State. The Los Angeles wildfires could accelerate that process. Bottom line: because of both natural and man made catastrophes, California is a less and less attractive place to do business as an insurer.

Five wild fires are now burning in Los Angeles. Five people are dead. More than 130,000 people have been evacuated. Twenty-eight thousand homes are now threatened.
Real estate investor Greg Cardone, whose Carbon Beach home has been damaged, said, “There are hundreds of billions of dollars of damage across California that could have been prevented if California actually had it’s priorities straight. [California Governor Gavin] Newsom should resign, or the California people should “evict” him from office immediately.”
The Palisades fire is burning over 17,000 acres with zero percent containment as I write this, and firefighters started running out of water to fight the fires yesterday.
Dr. Houman Houkmati, who escaped the fire with his family, said, “it’s pretty obvious who to blame for this. It’s Gov. Gavin Newsom. It’s Mayor Karen Bass. And on a County level, it’s the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors… These people have one main job, and that job is public safety. It’s not climate change. It’s not DEI. It’s not high speed rail that’s going to cost $200 billion and take 50 years to build. It is one thing, and that one thing is public safety, and that’s the one thing they (the woke liberal Democrats in control of California, Los Angeles and Los Angeles County) have ignored.”

A new wildfire, called the Sunset Fire, broke out Wednesday night, charring 20 acres near homes. With the landmark Capitol Records Building in the foreground, the flames glowed in the night sky.
The Palisades fire started at a home at 1190 North Pedra Morada drive on January 7th 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at this home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles where winds were gusting to 40 mph at the time.
The point here is that “Diversity, Equality and Inclusion” has been a disaster for many communities in America. The people on this list — only a few of whom are white or male — are all expressions of the liberal Democrats’ DEI agenda.
Stated simply, DEI has cost the American public a great deal of money and ruined innocent people’s lives. And in the cases of Vice President Kamala Harris and Fulton County, GA Prosecutor Fani Willis and Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle and the “DEI hires” at the Secret Service who were guarding President Trump in Butler, PA on July 13, 2024, these women’s poor performance has affected the 2024 U.S. Presidential election!
I think it is also worth noting that most (but not all) of these women would NOT have gotten these jobs if MEI was the criterion instead of DEI. Why? Because most do no MERIT the jobs. They lack the EXCELLENCE and INTELLIGENCE to perform the jobs adequately, let alone excel!
Then there is the fact that DEI is unabashedly RACIST AND DISCRIMINATORY AGAINST WHITES, and should therefore be outlawed on both federal and local levels on those grounds alone.
In truth, though, we are all victims of this ‘Diversity/Equity’ [DEI] nonesense, which simply means that anyone who is white is suppressed, especially younger white males.
It’s time to get the best person for the job, not the one that meets the racist and sexist biases of American liberals/Democrats.
